17" Rims

Interceptor, SP, FF

by Interceptor3 » Thu Feb 10, 2011 9:35 am

Does anyone know how much the 17" Interceptor style rims are? I saw them advertised by a Jensen parts supplier in Melbourne in a magazine I was flipping through at the newsagent, when I got home I discovered they have no website, so I have not been able to call them. They sure do look the goods, and a much wider choice of good modern tyres.

nigel you can get some 17/18/19 inch mag wheels from the states (google Mag wheels USA) all you need to do give them the stud patten (5 inch i believe) and the offset (4.5 inches i think) correct me somebody if i am wrong. the cost starts at 300.00 each which is cheaper than here (you have to compere apples with apples), hope this helps

Thanks Fred. Are they the proper Interceptor style ones like on the Interceptor R? That is what I am after.

they woudnt be the original 17 inch jensen wheels (last i heard they are no longer made or availiable) go on to the USA sites and search for wheels and see if any of them are close to what you are after

I think they are available in the UK - I seem to recall Appleyard Parts in Ilkeston UK had some in stock fairly recently. It may have been a short run or something "left over" but could be worth a call to them.

With the $ / £ ratio they shouldn't be too horrific price-wise either!

yes appleyards have them. I bought a set about 2 years ago - via Cropedy when they were involved in the "S". i think andy may hve secured the mould when the "S" people fell over ??

from memory GBP 250-300 each i think.

I think they transform the car - in a good way - as well as providing space for bigger brakes ...

Ps by chance talked to Andy at appleyards today. He is picking up 50 wheels tomorow apparently so they are in stock

You can talk to Dean down at Jensen Motors in Melbourne.
He gets the replica wheels in 17, 18 or even 19 inch diameters made to order but I believe they are around $1100 a wheel.
Pricey but nice.

Peter you are full of bad news for my budget tonight. An Interceptor R is starting to look like a reasonable alternative.
