Interceptor, SP, FF

GM Turbo 700 is the best option in my opinion. Really easy conversion. If interested, give Phill Coltman in Canberra a call. His number would be in the magazine.

1969 Jensen Interceptor Mk1 #3340
1970 Jensen Interceptor Mk2 #3958
1967 Jensen FF Mk1 #007
+ some other interesting toys!

Jensens are a way of life.

Hi have been meaning to get in touch with Phil about this. I have a old articles on my computer from him about it, but it does not go into a great amount of detail. At the time of writing (2002) he had already seen a fair few conversions done. This + EFI + 17" rims and the car will be sweet.

Hi Nigel,
How is the conversion going? you ask. Well been a bit busy with convertible's and 541's and Jen Healey's so the big small block and the 518T/F are still sitting in the shed. Been thinking that I should install it in the trusty old Mk1 prior to the Tassie rally as we will be cruising around down your way for a couple of weeks. But I may be being a bit ambitous, more likely will still have the 383/727.
If you are still thinking of overdrive behind 383/440 big block then sure T/H 700R can be adapted at a cost or as you said Gear Vendor unit are good(but pricey).
Or buy a used 518 for about $500 or a Recond one for about $1100. Go to the JVX Racing website where you will find a complete adapter kit 518 to big block Chrysler for about $550US, a bit of wiring and shorthen your tailshaft a bit and presto 0.69:1 overdrive.
Depends I suppose on how much you can do yourself and what you have to farm out.
Anyway hope to meet up face to face on the rally!!
Cheers for now.
