Hi.this is the start of the resto for my jensen 128/4579
might as well keep a diary of what is going on for all to see,and a good way to look back at the way she was. :)

this is where the car lived for 30 years under the carport.
for years the front was off the ground on blocks no wheels, while dad and i tried to work on the front end.
but with a new family and other interests, not much got done.
in this photo from 2 months ago, ive cleaned her and put it back on the ground so it doesnt look as sorry, i got sick of seeing it do nothing all covered in dust and crap.
we got the front back to bare metal and started to get it straight.there was so much paint and bog, you could brake a piece off with a screw driver and count the different colours. :o
in the spare spot next to it,we use to have a red mark 2 that was getting worked on as well, but has been sold aswell

ok so heres the next bit
I had to sand it back to bare metal because surface rust had started to come thru.and gave it a couple of coats of undercoat.
stripped the bumper and welded up the holes, started fitting it up for a real nice close fit.there going to be body colour.
oh yeah, the number plate came with the car, apparently this is from when it was in Hong Kong,id like to know if this is true or not.

sand blasted the indicator housings and put studs in them,
i like how the cars number is stamped inside.

Looks so much better without those over-riders on the bumpers.

Got a fair bit done yesterday.
Cut out the sill panels on the drivers side, all the way back to the internal 90' bend, just a couple little holes going into the cabin, phew.at least a bucket a dirt and crap came out.
Peeled of the vinyl roof, which came off in one piece.i thought it would be a struggle, but was no problem at all.theres a couple of holes in the gutter line, i knew they were there so no nasty surprises :D

WHY do people weld a patch over the rust hole on the outside, then bog up the whole the car to suit

Started on the passenger side door, the last panel to go back to bare metal.
as you can see, there is a lot of paint and stuff.

OK so the good news, the back end was painted about 20 years ago and is still in good nick,a couple of rust spots but this is going to be the easy part.

Photos are a fine size. One is not showing up though.

Keeping the LPG system in the car?
