question #1 can i just replace the whole booster master cyl and reservoirs as a unit?
or rebuild the master cyl and adapt some new reservoirs.

question #2 rebuilding the calipers, i think there seized from sitting for 12 years
i guess theres a rebuild kit available.

Hi Trev,

Here in Adelaide, I can recommend Power Brakes to rebuild your Master Cylinder - they can resleeve it in stainless steel, and I remember reading somewhere on a Jag XJS site recently that they successfully modified their remote reservoirs with Mitsubishi units (which also have a low brake fluid warning light system as well). I've been speaking to Ian there over the last week regarding getting a set of new brake pads for the Interceptor, so you'll scare the living daylights if you call him (two Interceptor owners in a week)!

Regarding the calipers, I rebuilt all of my pistons (gulp - they were all pitted, so I had them machine and replated by Hardchrome - don't know if they are still around) and it was PRICEY! Have a look around the web, as there are places who nowadays make them out of stainless steel and I remember reading that someone makes them out of plastic, and both prices seemed reasonable. Rebuild kits are available from the 'net too, or some of the local Jag dealers may be able to help as some models used the same caliper.

Cheers, Dino

Thanks for the info Dino
will have to get to that later, still doing body work at the moment.
As with any project i dont want to strip it to much, just finish 1 piece at a time.
Ive owned it a week now.
bonnets off and stripped ready for some filler, then im going to make a mould
drivers side door is back to bare metal,it had about 2mm of paint and bog on it.
getting ready to cut out the drivers side sill panel, which is almost gone anyway
engine bay is getting cleaned up
Cant wait,i look at it everyday. :)

I just bought some front rotors for my Mk3 from Ross Hockley, just over $800 delivered to Hobart.

$800 is a lot, since these rotors were sourced from other manufacturers in the day surely there still available under the prefix of the other car. Maybe the price goes up because Jensen is mentioned . I could probably get steel billets spun from scratch for the same money doh

A lot is an understatement. I think they are actually bespoke though.
