Hi tasti,
The early 3500 Rover had the same 5.5in Rostyle as the Mk15.0in PCD. Early rims were riveted together and can be drilled out to re-chrome them or fit wider rims. A good wheel supplier may be able to supply wider 6.0in rims or up to 7.0in max and weld or rivet them back together after chroming. I did this on my old MK1 went for 6.0in with standard 205-70x15 tyres. My MK2 has 7.0in Globe Bathurst alloys running 215-65-15 with the same offset as a MK3. They just clear the MK2 front wishbones. As another note Jeep has the same bolt pattern in 16 to 20in but they may be a bit wide and locating very low profile tyre could be a challenge.
Cheers
Ken
